Extract Systems

There are a number of ways in which the contaminated air can be extracted through a kitchen canopy, and the extract only models supplied within the Kingfisher range, are marketed under the name of Activair.

All extract canopies in the Kingfisher range are available in both stainless steel and aluminium, and fabricated in an all formed, folded and welded construction. Ceilings are tray formed to conceal all fixings, and a continuous full perimeter condensation channel is provided.

Filter housings are either of filter length or full canopy length to suit the air flow required, and the extracted air can either be filtered by using the Guardian or Baffle filters (refer to our Filter Range), or when the cooking process involves little or no grease, simply discharged through a grille or condensate tray. When there is no possibility of providing a positive extract, condensate only canopies can be specified of all welded construction, and complete with a piped drain.

All canopies can be supplied with either recessed fluorescent or bulkhead type lights, and splashbacks, infill panels and service distribution units are also available.

It must be noted that hipped valances should be avoided as they provide a platform on which bacteria may form. The following illustrations show a few of our many options :
